Scout Mountain Ultra Trail 2017

Scout Mountain Ultra Trail Run

Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to Pocatello 50 2.0- The Scout Mountain Ultra Trail! This year we will be offering the following distances 100k (62.2 miles), 60k (37 miles) and 35 k (21 miles).  It has been long known that our distances were a little long, but due to the construction of the Sterling Justice trail, a connector trail from Gibson Jack to City Creek, we needed to alter the course in order to stay in good standing with the Forest Service.

The additional trail added a little more mileage to the 50 mile distance taking us to 56 miles, so we opted to bump up to the next standard ultra distance, 100k.  This will allow us to include a couple more of  the best trails in Pocatello and to be more accurate with our distances.  There is a minor change occurring with the two shorter races, namely the elimination of the mile of pavement after the Big Fur Aid Station, this added a little distance but will certainly add to the race

If you took pictures from the event and are willing to share, please send them to us at slukenelson@gmail.com or share them on the Scout Mountain Ultra Trail Facebook page.

In addition, proceeds from the race will be used to make donations to one or more charities.

Sincerely, Luke Nelson
