Paddle Dash Kayathlon

Go to www.paddledash.com for more info.

A Kayathlon is a multisport event that involves kayaking, cycling and running.

The kayathlon is ran much like a triathlon, you just paddle a kayak instead of swimming during  the water portion of the race.  This year at the Paddle Dash Kayathlon we will have two different distances that racers can choose to run and they can run them solo or as a team of two.  During the kayaking portion, teams of two must either compete in a tandem kayak or a canoe.

The Kayathlon Sprint race will start out with a 5k run, then move to a 15k cycle and finish up with a 2.5k paddle around Wakeside Lake in Rexburg, Idaho.  This race may be ran solo or as a team of two racer.  Teams of two will need to be in a tandem kayak or a canoe will also be allowed.  Racers must be 14 years or older. But until racers are 18 they must have a waver signed by their parents or legal guardians to allow them to race.

For those that love the idea of a kayathlon, but are not sure about the distance, we will also be running a Kayathlon Ultra Sprint.  Racers will start out with a 2.5k run, complete a 10k cycle and finish with a 1.3k paddle around Wakeside Lake in Rexburg, Idaho. This race may also be ran solo or as a team of two racer. Teams of two will need to be in a tandem kayak or a canoe will also be allowed. The age limit is 12 years old and up, until racers are 18 they must have a waver signed by their parents or legal guardians to compete.
